Description

Outside of collaboration projects, this is the first new music by SW’s ambient/drone/noise project Bass Communion in 6 years. Much more than a mere “side-project”, BASS COMMUNION could be regarded as Steven Wilson’s discrete medium for manifesting his most daring, challenging and obscure musical ideas. “Sisters Oregon” is a new 26 minute work released on 10 inch vinyl by German label Drone Records. The 4 parts are filled with sonorous drone expanses, tiny microsounds, deep bass eruptions and sudden breaks, ranging from an otherwordly subtleness to a most spacious finale, reaching a transcendental beauty of the highest degree. On almost every BC release the source material chosen is unique within the discography, in this case recordings of a boy’s choir made at Air Studio in late 2014 during the sessions for SW’s album Hand.Cannot.Erase.

On 10″ sky-blue marbled vinyl featuring stunning sleeve artwork by Carl Glover, underlining the mystery of this release. 1st editon of 500 copies on black vinyl (sold out). The 2nd edition of 300 copies on sky-blue marbled vinyl.
